Sexed Spider Policy

Sexed Spider Policy

We occasionally offer sexed spiders in our available inventory.

Spider sex is most reliably determined by examining a molt for the presence of female reproductive organs (spermatheca). The absence of these organs usually indicates a male, though some males have similar-looking features that can cause confusion.

In most cases, a spider’s sex cannot be confirmed until it reaches about 2–3 inches diagonal leg span (DLS) or larger.

Sexed spiders are either sexed in-house or by one of our trusted suppliers.

Guarantee

All sexed spiders are guaranteed to be correctly identified.
If a mistake is ever verified, you are entitled to a full refund.

We only list spiders as sexed when we are confident in the identification. While some customers may have doubts after receiving their spider, many online sources share incorrect information about sexing methods. Please know that we take great care to ensure accuracy before listing.

Claims

If you believe you received the wrong sex, we’re happy to review your concern.
Please note that ventral photos are not reliable proof of sex.
To process a claim, we’ll need clear photos of the spider’s molt or the molt itself shipped to us for verification.

If the sex is confirmed incorrect, we will provide a full refund. We will also reimburse your cost to ship us the molt (up to $10).

In most cases, however, claims turn out to be based on uncertainty, and the spider was correctly sexed. We appreciate your patience and understanding during review.
