Spiderlings from subfamily Aviculariinae commonly present difficulty to keepers new and seasoned. They require specific husbandry to thrive. We find that keeping the substrate on the dry side, offering vertical climbing opportunities (moss/faux plant), placing a water dish off the ground, and top and side ventilation is crucial. They can be shy eaters, so smaller prey items are recommended. We place prey items in their webbing or otherwise leave them near the spider off the ground.
