These massive desert toads produce a poison which pose a threat to small mammals and other predatory animals. The glands which secrete this poison also produce the hallucinogen 5-MEO-DMT. In captivity, they require a large habitat with deep damp substrate and the opportunity to hide. They are nocturnal. Field-collected.
