Diet: Opportunistic feeders will eat a variety of vertebrates – mice, frogs, and other reptiles including snakes, hence the name “king”

Housing: Aspen bedding in a 10 gal enclosure will suit a juvenile, offer a hide, water dish, and rock for shedding

Temperament: With regular handling these snakes are docile and well-tempered, non-venomous

Heat: A heat gradient of 70-90 F can be achieved by use of basking lamp   

Lighting: Full spectrum lighting including UVB/UVA will improve coloration and digestive health
