The notorious B. smithi, not to be confused with B. hamorii. This is a stocky, heavily-built Mexican spider and a collection necessity. The locale where this species is found lies along the Pacific coast of Mexico. Among rocks and tree roots, these spiders build their dens to protect themselves from predators. In enclosures, they are often found out in the open and make for great display species.
