Collection: New World

New World spiders are from the continents of North and South America. They are characterized by their featured urticating setae. These are the porcupine like barbs used for self-defense and effective against predatory mammals. These hairs can irritate the skin, lungs, and eyes. There are several barb types, I-IV. Some unique NW species do not have them at all! These spiders are generally safer to keep as venom is known to be less potent.
